Harvard will open the 2016 season at Hofstra Feb. 20 (Penny Ashford).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Three rising seniors will have been elected by their teammates as captains for the upcoming Harvard women's lacrosse season. Midfielder Audrey Todd, defender Tory Waldstein and goalie Kelly Weis will all serve as captains for the second-consecutive campaign.
"Our staff is extremely excited about the selection of Tory Waldstein, Audrey Todd, and Kelly Weis as captains for the 2016 season," said Lisa Miller, The Carole Kleinfelder Head Coach for Harvard Women's Lacrosse.
"Their selection was by a team vote, and all three have done a terrific job of leading the team both on and off the field over the past two years. They are positive, experienced examples who excel in the many areas of the Ivy athlete and complement each other's leadership skills nicely. We are looking forward to working closely with them for this upcoming season."
Todd, a three-time All-Ivy League choice from Baltimore, Maryland, ranked second on the Crimson with 30 goals and was third with 38 points as a junior in 2015. Todd was also an Academic All-Ivy League pick last spring.
A native of Needham, Massachusetts, Waldstein garnered All-Ancient Eight honorable mention a season ago. She collected 20 ground balls and started all 16 games at defense.
Weis, who hails from Garden City, New York, has been tabbed to the All-Ivy team twice in her career. In 2015, she started all 16 games and owned a 9.64 goals-against average and a .412 save percentage. Weis enters her senior season eighth in school history with 333 career saves.
Harvard will open the 2016 season on the road at Hofstra Feb. 20. The Crimson is coming off an 8-8 season and has advanced to the Ivy League tournament in each of the last two years.
