CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lisa Miller, The Carole Kleinfelder Head Coach for Harvard Women's Lacrosse, has announced the addition of Kayla Treanor to her staff as an assistant coach. Treanor joins the Crimson from Syracuse where she graduated in May after a successful four-year career with the Orange.
"I am excited to welcome Kayla to the Harvard Lacrosse community," said Miller. "She will be a passionate, enthusiastic and thoughtful addition to the staff and her penchant for teaching, coaching, and playing, along with her emphasis on mental and physical skill development, competitiveness and her desire to win will help the program take the next step to national competitiveness. Most importantly, everyone who has worked with her could not say enough about her humor, team-first mentality, character, work ethic and loyalty. I couldn't be more thrilled for our players and program."
Treanor was among the most dominant attackers in the nation during her career at Syracuse, garnering first team All-America accolades all four years, as well as earning a spot on the NCAA All-Tournament team each season. At Harvard, her focus will be working with the attack and draw control student-athletes.
Upon the Orange's joining of the Atlantic Coast Conference, Treanor excelled, collecting All-ACC first team honors from 2014-16, as well as being named the ACC Attacker of the Year. The IWLCA tabbed her with the same honor each of those three seasons as well. Her national recognition stretched to the Tewaaraton Award and the Honda National Player of the Year Award where she was a finalist for both honors as a sophomore, junior and senior. As a junior and senior she served as Syracuse's team captain.
Treanor has also been a member of the U.S. Women's National Team, earning a gold with the U-19 squad in 2012 before joining the USA Senior Team in 2013.
In addition to her standout career, Treanor has built up coaching experience working Syracuse Lacrosse Camps since 2013, serving as the director of lacrosse academies for G22 Sports, and coaching the Albany Elite and Syracuse Outlaws club teams. She also participated in a Summit Lacrosse Ventures 2016 spring internship, promoting the company and overseeing participants.
