CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior defender Emma Ford and senior attacker Marisa Romeo were named Inside Lacrosse Face-Off Yearbook Preseason All-America honorable mention selections, the publication announced Tuesday.
Ford is a two-time All-Ivy League first team selection and has been named to the IWLCA All-Region team twice. A constant in Harvard's lineup, Ford has started all 48 games of her career, leading the Crimson in ground balls as a sophomore with 35 and finishing second last year with 29 to go with 12 caused turnovers. Ford is serving as one of the tri-captains for the Crimson this season.
Romeo is making her second-straight appearance on the Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-America team. She is a three-time All-Ivy League selection, including two first team nods. Additionally, she is also a three-time IWLCA All-Region second team honoree. She has led the Crimson in goals and points each season of her career, going for 29 goals and 48 points last season. She enters her senior year seventh in program history with 155 career points and is tied for ninth with 114 career goals.
Ford, Romeo and the rest of the Harvard women's lacrosse team begin the 2017 season Feb. 18 with a trip to New Hampshire.
