CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The No. 5 Harvard women's rugby team defeated No. 4 Army, 24-12, on Saturday night to advance to the NIRA Semifinals.
The score remained tied at zero until the 22nd minute when Harvard took a 7-0 lead thanks to a try from junior Caitlin Weigel and a completed comversion courtesy of junior Jenny Kronish. In the final minute of the first half, Harvard touched down for a anothe try, this time from freshman Sabrina Kim. At the half, Harvard commanded a 12-0 lead over Army.
During the second half, sophomore Robyn Beese and Kronish touched down for one try each. Kronish completed the night with two successful conversions, and Harvard defeated Army, 24-12.
"Army is a strong side and challenged us for 80 minutes," said head coach Mel Denham. "The team played well tonight and have a lot to be proud of. While we are taking the night to enjoy this win, we are excited to get back to work and see where we can be better going into the National Championship weekend."
- Junior Jenny Kronish touched down for one try and completed two conversions against Army.

Harvard will face Dartmouth on Friday, Nov. 17 at a time still to be announced.
