The Harvard women’s rugby team returns to Cambridge for its home opener showdown with Ivy League rival Dartmouth on Saturday, Sept. 21. The matchup is set to kick off at 11 a.m. and be broadcast on ESPN+.
The Harvard women’s rugby team is set to hit the road to kick off its season against Quinnipiac on Saturday, Aug. 31. The game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. and will be broadcast on Quinnipiac All-Access.
The Ivy League is entering into the second year of its long-term relationship with ESPN, which will see broadcasts across a variety of ESPN platforms. This includes coverage for all 42 Harvard varsity programs on ESPN linear networks and ESPN+. Excelling on a national stage before they return to Cambridge, four Harvard women’s rugby student-athletes were placed on the Collegiate All-American roster, while three competed in the under-20 Tri Nations Cup in England.
Coming off a record season of two Ivy titles, a 15s national championship appearance and bronze medal at 7s nationals, Harvard women’s rugby head coach Mel Denham has added two-time world cup competitor Sylvia Braaten to the coaching staff.
Combining with a talented group of returning players, Harvard women’s rugby has revealed its incoming class of eight first-year student-athletes: Darby Eck, Kim Hartung, Lucy Jacobsen, Heidi Lucas, Brogan Mior, Achele Ochada, Alex Pipkin and Jordan Roe.
After a strong 15s season that led to an appearance in the National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) Championship, the Harvard women’s rugby team has revealed its 2019 schedule. The team will have two home matchups at Mignone Field, both broadcast on ESPN+.
