Women’s Rugby Shines with Under-20 National Team Squads, Leads Country with Four on Collegiate All-American Team

The rugby team is presented medals at the USA 7s championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Excelling on a national stage before they return to Cambridge, four Harvard women's rugby student-athletes were placed on the Collegiate All-American roster, while three competed in the under-20 Tri Nations Cup in England.

Four Harvard student-athletes were selected to the Collegiate All-American team for USA Rugby's All-Star Week, which co-leads the country along with Penn State. 2019 graduates Jenny Kronish, Akweley Okine, Genevieve Quirion and Caitlin Wiegel were selected to the team, while assistant coach Justin Moss will serve on the coaching staff.

The squad will be in action August 1-3, with matches set to stream live on Facebook.

Sophomore Cassidy Bargell and junior Erica Jarrell represented the United States at the U20 Tri Nations Cup in England, while incoming first-year Brogan Mior played for Canada, and scored a try in the game. Assistant coach Sylvia Braaten served on the United States coaching staff, focusing on physical performance.

The Harvard women's rugby season begins August 31 at Quinnipiac.
