KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the second straight season, junior forward Margaret Purce has been named to the MAC Hermann Trophy watch list, as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America on Wednesday.
Purce was named to the All-Mid-Atlantic, All-New England, and All-Ivy League first teams in 2014 as well as competing for the U.S. U-20 National team. In 2013, Purce became the first freshman to win Ivy League Player of the Year.
Purce has led Harvard in goals and points in each of her two seasons in Crimson, including a 10-goal, 22-point season in 2014. The attacker from Olney, Maryland has also scored six game-winning goals in her career. She is the only student-athlete from the Ivy League to appear on the list.
Harvard finished the 2014 campaign with an 11-5-2 record, including a 5-1-1 mark in conference play to capture the Ivy League Championship. The Crimson opens its 2015 season on the road at Army on Sunday, August 30.
