Women’s Soccer Announces Class of 2020

Harvard adds six student-athletes from four states around the country (Penny Ashford).

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Coming off another successful season in 2015, Chris Hamblin, the Branca Family Head Coach for Harvard women's soccer, has announced the program's incoming class of 2020; Zoe Aigberomwan-IsiborMaggie Basta, Kimaya Cole, Kat Hess, Lauren Spohn and Meg Tveit.

"We are very excited to welcome the freshman class to the Harvard women's soccer family," said Hamblin. "This talented group of players will bring a diverse set of experiences to the soccer program. The strengths of the freshman class compliment the talents of the returning players, which promises to provide an exciting and competitive pre-season."

The group of six adds to a team that posted an 8-7-2 record in 2015, including a 5-1-1 mark in Ivy League play. Harvard led the conference with eight All-Ivy selections a year ago.

Zoe Aigberomwan-Isibor | D/M | Corona, Calif. | Norco
Competed for West Coast FC … Member of the CalSouth Olympic development team … Three-time all-league, 2015-16 All-CIF selection … Named team's best defender in 2012-13 and 2015-16, best forward in 2013-14 … Led Norco to CIF playoffs in each of four seasons  … Team captain as a senior … Valedictorian.

Maggie Basta | M/F | New Canaan, Conn. | Greenwich Academy
Region One Olympic Development team selection for three international trips … Spent four years with Connecticut FC ECNL, and was a four-year starter at forward and midfield for the Greenwich Academy … Three-time all-state selection … Team captain … Three-time Fairchester Athletic Association All-League selection … 2015-16 all-region honoree … Greenwich Golden Boot recipient with 30 goals as a senior.

Kimaya Cole | D/M | Sacramento, Calif. | C.K. McClatchy
Played for San Juan Sprits ECNL and Union FC; was a four-year starter all over the field for C.K. McClatchy … Two-time Metro League selection … All-City honoree … Twice selected as team MVP … Helped lead team to four-straight conference championships … Team captain … Also lettered on basketball team.

Kat Hess | GK | Newport Beach, Calif. | Corona Del Mar
Played for US Women's National Team from U-14 through U-18 levels … TopDrawerSoccer's No. 1 ranked national goalkeeper … Played for SoCal Blues soccer club … First team All-CIF and All-Pacific Coast League in 2016, posting 12 shutouts … ODP All-Star team, earned regional top honors Cal South Soccer Federation Player of the Year (20140 … Also started on basketball team, was a second-team All-CIF selection as a senior and two-time All-League selection.

Lauren Spohn | M | College Station, Texas | College Station
Played for Challenge ECNL … Two-time first team All-State selection … Two-time team MVP … First team all-district in each of her four seasons at College Station … Holds program record for career assists and goals in a game (5) … Also competed in cross country, qualified for state meet … Valedictorian.

Meg Tveit | M | Bothell, Wash. | Bothell
Played for Crossfire ECNL … ECNL National Finalist, team finished second in the nation in 2015 … Two-time team captain … All-Kingco 4A Offensive MVP as a senior …Also lettered for track & field team as a middle distance runner … Track team captain in 2016 … Valedictorian.
