The inclusion on the list is the third of Purce's career (Gil Talbot).
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Rising senior Margaret Purce of the Harvard women's soccer team has been selected to the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann watch list, as announced by the organization on Wednesday. The MAC Hermann Award is the most prestigious award in college soccer, and is presented annually to the sport's top male and female athletes.
Purce is honored on the watch list for the third time in her career, as she was also announced as a contender for the award in 2014 and 2015. Seeing time at both striker and midfield, Purce was named to the All-Ivy League first team for the third time in 2015, while also collecting NSCAA All-Region accolades. The Olney, Maryland native enters the season in sixth place on the Harvard career goals list with 30 and eighth on the career points list with 68.
Additionally, Purce helped the United States U-23 national team to a victory in the Nordic Tournament, held in June in the United Kingdom.
Harvard finished the 2015 campaign with an 8-7-2 overall record, including a 5-1-1 mark in Ivy League play. The Crimson opens the 2016 season at home against Connecticut August 26. The contest will be broadcast on the Ivy League Digital Network.
