PRINCETON, N.J. – Helping to push Harvard's unbeaten streak to eight games, senior forward Rachel Garcia has been selected as the Ivy League Player of the Week for the span of Oct. 10-16. The honor is the first weekly award of Garcia's career.
The Duluth, Georgia native began the week with a goal and an assist on Tuesday night against Boston University, aiding the Crimson to a 2-2 draw. The senior found the back of the net for the second-straight outing on Saturday against Brown, scoring heroically in the 89th minute with a header to the top left corner.
Garcia is second on the team with four goals and 11 points, and she ranks seventh in the Ivy League in both categories. The Crimson closes its road schedule for 2016 at Dartmouth on Saturday, Oct. 29.
