Women's Soccer Welcomes Northeastern Sunday on Ohiri Field

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Returning to Cambridge for its third home game this season, Harvard women's soccer will host Northeastern on Sunday, Sept. 16 at 1 p.m. on Ohiri Field. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.

What to Know

  • Harvard is 2-4 on the season, including back-to-back shutout wins Aug. 30 and Sept. 2 against Syracuse (4-0) and Quinnipiac (1-0).
  • Senior Leah Mohammadi and freshman Sophie Hirst lead the team with three and two goals, respectively, while sophomore Murphy Agnew has dished a team-leading two assists.
  • Senior Danielle Etzel has started five of six games between the posts, where she has made 13 saves with two shutouts and a 0.50 goals-against average.
  • Hirst was named the Ivy League Player and Rookie of the Week on Sept. 3 after scoring game-winning goals in back-to-back games, becoming the first Harvard rookie to collect both honors since Margaret Purce in 2013.
  • The Crimson leads the all-time series with Northeastern, 3-1-2, with the teams re-opening the series a year ago.

Chris Hamblin leads the Crimson in his third season as the Branca Family Head Coach for Harvard Women's Soccer. He was the Ivy League Coach of the Year in 2016 after leading the program to its 13th Ivy League title.

Harvard opens the Ivy slate on Saturday, Sept. 22 with a trip to Penn. The 4 p.m. kickoff will be broadcast on ESPN+.
