Harvard earned its second 9-0 sweep of the season (Gil Talbot).
CAMBRIDGE, MASS. – No. 1 Harvard women's squash took down its second-straight top-three opponent, sweeping No. 3 Princeton at the Murr Center Squash Courts, 9-0, to hand the Tigers their first loss of the season.
Harvard (4-0) was dominant all-around, winning by a total game score of 25-3 over Princeton (4-1) as six members of the Crimson swept their respective games. The Crimson's top, middle and bottom three were equally effective, winning each of their sets by a combined game score of 9-1. The Tigers previously had yet to yield a game, winning each of their previous four matches in 9-0 sweeps.
Dileas MacGowan, Sophie Mehta and Saumya Karki rounded out the victories for the Crimson. MacGowan picked up the win at the No. 7 position for her third win of the season while Mehta continued to stay undefeated this season at the No. 8 spot for her fourth-straight win.
Harvard will return to the Murr Center Squash Courts as it hosts St. Lawrence Jan. 18 in a 1 p.m. contest.
