NEW YORK, N.Y. – No. 1 women's squash continued its undefeated season Saturday afternoon at the SL Green StreetSquash Center, sweeping No. 7 Columbia for its second-straight 9-0 decision over an Ivy League opponent.
Harvard (7-0, 4-0 Ivy League) was dominant all-around, taking all but two games from Columbia (5-3, 2-2 Ivy League), earning its fifth sweep of the season.
The Crimson's top three of Sabrina Sobhy, Kayley Leonard and Alyssa Mehta each secured 9-0 victories to lead the way. Sobhy earned her fourth win of the season, while Leonard and Mehta earned their sixth.
Katherine Tutrone earned her third win of the season at the No. 4 position, while Michelle Gemmell picked up her fourth at the No. 5 spot and Sue Ann Young secured her first triumph of the year at the No. 6 position.
Saumya Karki, Dileas MacGowan and Sophie Mehta rounded out the wins for the Crimson as each swept their respective opponent. Karki and Mehta continued to stay undefeated with their sixth wins, while MacGowan picked up her fifth triumph.
Harvard will return to the courts tomorrow at 11 a.m. against No. 12 Cornell.
