Three Women's Squash Student-Athletes Advance at CSA Individual Championships

STAMFORD, Conn. – Three members of the women's squash team advanced to the quarterfinals of the CSA Individual Championships after the round of 16 play.

Freshmen Sabrina Sobhy and Kayley Leonard advanced to the quarterfinals of the Ramsey Cup, while Dileas MacGowan advanced in the Holleran A Division.

Sobhy earned a come-from-behind 3-2 victory in her opening match, fighting back from two games down against Penn's Marie Stephan. Leonard powered past George Washington's Anna Porras, 3-1, in her opening match. Alyssa Mehta, also competing for the Ramsey Cup, fell 3-1 to Princeton's Olivia Fiechter.

Sobhy will face Wesleyan's Laila Sammy tomorrow at 11:45 a.m., while Leonard will face Fiechter in an 11 a.m. match. Mehta will face Porras in a consolation quarterfinal at 11 a.m.

Sophie Mehta was swept by Penn's Haidi Lala in the opening round of the Holleran A Division. Mehta will face St. Lawrence's Emily Terry in a consolation quarterfinal tomorrow at 9 a.m.

MacGowan advanced to the Holleran D Division quarterfinals after downing Penn's Hayley Parsons in her opening match, 3-1. MacGowan will take on George Washington's Breanne Flynn tomorrow at 1:10 p.m.

On the men's side, Bryan Koh was swept by Rochester's Mario Yanez in the opening round of the Pool Division. Koh will compete in a consolation quarterfinal match tomorrow at 11:15 a.m against Bate's Ahmed Hatata.
