Meagan Popp reached the B-final of the 200 IM Thursday (Gil Talbot).
AUSTIN, Texas – The Harvard women's swimming team concluded the first day of competition at the Texas Invitational Thursday evening at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
The 200 free relay squad opened the evening with a 10th-place showing. Mei Lynn Colby, Miki Dahlke, Daniela Johnson and Gabby Sims clocked in at 1:32.09, just ahead of a foursome from Wisconsin. Harvard's quartet of Kristina Li, Meagan Popp, Brittany Usinger and Dahlke took 12th in the final event Thursday, the 400 medley relay, with a time of 3:41.10. In the third relay completed thus far, the 800 free, Jerrica Li, Usinger, Ashlee Korsberg and Victoria Chan came in 14th.
Popp reached the B-final of the 200 IM, finishing sixth in 2:01.63. Geordie Enoch was the top Harvard finisher in the C-final, touching the wall in 2:00.96, good for a 'B' cut mark. The 50 free saw Dahlke finish second in the D-final in 23.17, with Jerrica Li right behind her. Willa Wang proved the top Harvard finisher in the 500 free, coming in fifth in the C-final.
Action continues Friday with the 100 fly, 400 IM, 200 free, 100 breast and 100 back.
