Women's Tennis Competed at Yale Bulldog Invitational

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior Annika Ringblom and freshman Anna Li highlighted the Harvard women's tennis team at the Yale Bulldog Invitational. The Crimson pair went 2-1 as doubles partners with victories over Brown and Dartmouth on Oct. 6 and Oct. 7, respectively. 

Additionally, Li was 2-1 in singles pulling victories against Brown and UMass. Freshman Neha Gupta and sophomore Lexi Milunovich also went 2-1 in singles. 

Day 3: Harvard 5, UMass 7

Sophomore Jenna Friedel and freshman Neha Gupta claimed three of Harvard's five wins against UMass on Sunday afternoon. The Crimson pair earned the lone doubles victory against the Minutemen, defeating Martina Bocchi and Jovana Bogicevic, 6-4. 

In singles, Gupta made quick work of Bogicevic, 6-2, 6-0 while Friedel edged out Lauren Moreno, 6-3, 6-4. Milunovich and sophomore Isabel Jasper picked up the other two singles wins for the Crimson - Milunovich defeated the Minutemen's Ana Yrazusta, 6-0, 6-4 while Jasper defeated Ashley Avery, 6-4, 6-3. 

Day 2: Harvard 3, Dartmouth 9

The Crimson split doubles against the Big Green. Ringblom and Li battled battled the Dartmouth's Julia Schroeder and Racquel Lyn to a 7-6 win while Milunovich and sophomore Irene Lu defeated Kristina Mathis and Jasmine Abidi, 6-2. 

Gupta took the lone Harvard singles victory defeating Chuyang Guan, 6-3, 6-1. 

Day 1: Harvard 8, Brown 4

Li and Ringblom paired together to defeat the Bears' Alyza Benotto and Devon Jack, 6-2, in flight one doubles. Lu and Milunovich took flight three, 6-4, while Friedel and freshman Jenna Moustafa battled to a 7-6 win in flight two.

In singles, Ringblom needed only two sets to defeat Maddie Stearns in flight two, 6-4, 6-3, while Li came back from a 0-1 hole to take flight five, 3-6, 6-2, 7-5. Moustafa won flight six , 6-3, 6-4 as Gupta held off Brown freshman Semi Oloko in flight seven, 6-4, 6-4. Freshman Lia Kiam rounded out the Crimson in singles with a 6-2, 6-2 win in flight eight.

Harvard Highlights

  • Li, Ringblom went 2-1 in doubles following wins over Brown (Oct. 6) and Dartmouth (Oct. 7).
  • Li, Gupta and Milunovich went 2-1 in singles - Gupta earned the lone singles win against Dartmouth (Oct. 7).
