Women's Tennis Takes Down Seton Hall in Day Two of Harvard Fall Scramble

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After dropping doubles, the Harvard women's tennis team responded with a sweep of singles to defeat Seton Hall, 6-1, on the second day of the Harvard Fall Scramble, Saturday afternoon.

Seton Hall took doubles, winning two of three matches. Harvard sophomores Irene Lu and Lexi Milunovich picked up the lone doubles win for the Crimson, knocking off the Pirates' Michal Matson and Melody Taal, 6-3, in second doubles. 

Freshman Neha Gupta earned her team-leading, seventh singles victory of the defeating the Pirates' Katie Kim, 6-1, 6-1, in fifth singles. Junior Erica Oosterhout improved to 6-1 in singles on the season, battling Luize Strike to the 6-3, 6-2 win in first singles, while freshman Anna Li also moved to 6-1 with a two-set win in sixth singles.

Harvard Highlights

  • The Crimson swept singles, 6-0. 
  • Gupta remained perfect in singles, improving to 7-0, with a two-set win in fifth singles.
  • Oosterhout moved to 6-1 on the year following a two-set battle in first singles, 6-3, 6-2.
