
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's tennis suffered its first loss of season, falling to Boston College, 5-2, at the Murr Center Courts Friday.
The Crimson started strong, earning the doubles point. The pairing of first-year Rachel Lim and junior Jenna Friedel defeated Jackie Urbinati and Kylie Wilcox, 6-3, at the top of the order. Senior Erica Oosterhout and junior Natasha Gonzalez, meanwhile, took down the Eagles pairing of Laura Lopez and Yufei Long, 6-3, at the second position.
In singles play, Gonzalez earned her second win of the evening with a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Laura Lopez at the fifth slot. The singles victory, however, was the only one of the day for Crimson.
Harvard Highlights:
- The Crimson continues to hold the all-time series lead over the Eagles, 33-14.
- Friedel and Lim improved to 3-0 as doubles partners this season.
- Gonzalez moves to 4-0 on the season in singles play.
- Harvard has yet to lose the doubles point this season with a 12-1 cumulative record.
