CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's tennis team (8-4) picked up two wins at the Murr Center Courts Saturday. The Crimson began the day with a 5-2 victory against Boston University, followed by a 7-0 sweep of Southern New Hampshire in the second match of its doubleheader.
"Proud of the focus from our team today," said Traci Green, The Sheila Kelly Palandjian Head Coach for Harvard Women's Tennis. "Excited to see the hard work in practice paying dividends."
In the first matchup against Boston University, Harvard earned the doubles point. The No. 1 pair of junior Natasha Gonzalez and senior Erica Oosterhout defeated Shelly Yaloz and Emily Kim, 6-3. The first-year duo of Rachel Lim and Chelsea Williams impressed with a 6-1 victory against Katya Martens and Sophia Kryloff, 6-1.
In singles play, Harvard was led by Oosterhout, who breezed to a 6-2, 6-4 win against Remi Ramos at the top position. First-year Rachel Eason outplayed Lily Burchell, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 4, while classmate Chelsea Williams earned another win with a 6-2, 6-3 victory against Katya Martens at the fifth spot in the order. Sophomore Anna Li rounded out the top-six by besting Dani Blaser, 6-1, 6-2.
In the second match of the day against Southern New Hampshire, the duo of Gonzalez and Oosterhout earned another doubles victory on the day against Anna Sala and Sofia Morais, 6-3. Williams and Li paired up for the second match at third doubles and took down Lior Pachuorkovski and Elizabeth Dwyer, 6-1.
The Crimson won all six of its singles matches against SNHU. Rachel Lim led the way in her first time as the team's No. 1, defeating Anna Sala, 6-2, 6-2. Williams added yet another win on the day against Sofia Morais, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 2. Sophomore Neha Gupta rounded out the top-three with a convincing 6-2, 6-2 victory against Alexxa Etienne.

The team will have a short break before its next match on March 10, against St. John's at the Murr Center Courts at 11 a.m., and broadcast on ESPN3.
