Corinne Bain Earns AVCA All-East Region Honors

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Corinne Bain has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-East Region team for the second year in a row, the association announced today.

Bain is the second player in program history to earn AVCA All-Region recognition twice, joining Kaego Ogbechie '05, and the first to be honored three times by the AVCA, as Bain earned honorable mention honors in 2014. Bain wrapped up a historic career for Harvard with another solid season as the team's best all-around player. She became the ninth student-athlete in the history of Ivy League volleyball and the first at Harvard to earn First Team All-Ivy honors four times.

Bain was tops in NCAA Division I volleyball with eight triple doubles on the year. She is the conference's all-time leader in triple-doubles (32) and double-doubles (66). Bain led Harvard this season with 554 assists (6.44 assists/set) and 27 service aces, while also recording 187 kills and 223 digs. She broke Harvard's all-time record for career service aces earlier in the year, finishing with 142, and was fourth all-time in school history with 2,276 assists.

Harvard (9-14, 7-7 Ivy) finished the 2016 season by winning five of its last nine games, including a final weekend sweep of Yale and Brown at home, with Bain recording the final point of the year on a kill down the line.
