CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's volleyball team (13-10, 8-6 Ivy) closed out the season with a bang, defeating Penn (12-11, 7-7 Ivy) 3-1 on senior day. In their final matches in a Crimson jersey, Paige Kebe raked up 12 kills hitting at a .333 clip and Heather Sigurdson posted her second consecutive match with double-digit digs, totaling 20 digs on the weekend.
Maclaine Fields again led the offense, raking in 14 kills and a .444 hitting percentage and Mindie Mabry put down 12 kills along with five digs, an ace and a block after a few quiet matches in recent weeks. Christina Cornelius continued to contribute all over the court with 13 kills, two aces, eight digs and three blocks for 15.5 points.
Erin McCarthy was just seven assists shy of her career high, totaling 51 in the four-set tilt. Sandra Zeng put together another solid performance from the back row, adding a team high 11 digs to the win.
With the conclusion of the 2017 season, Harvard will now start nine months of preparation for the 2018 campaign.
