PRINCETON, N.J. – Earning All-Ivy recognition in each of her four years at Harvard, senior co-captain Christina Cornelius of the Harvard women's volleyball team has received All-Ivy First Team honors, as announced by the conference today, Nov. 15.
Cornelius was named First Team All-Ivy for the third time in her career after leading the team with 243 kills and 105 blocks. The Los Angeles, Calif. native surpassed 800 career kills and met or exceeded five career highs this season. During the 2018 season, she recorded double-digit kills in 14 matches and posted six double-doubles. Cornelius ranked eighth in the Ivy League in hitting percentage (.265) and second in blocks per set (1.17). Earning her fourth weekly award of her career, Cornelius was named the Ivy League Player of the Week after leading the Crimson to back-to-back sweeps over Penn and league-leader Princeton with 23 kills, 15 digs and five blocks back in October. The senior has played in every match over the last three seasons and was a starter in all 23 matches across the 2018 campaign.
Harvard posted an 11-12 overall record and 5-8 conference mark during the 2018 season, finishing fourth in the Ivy League. This marks the sixth straight season the Crimson has finished in the top four of the conference.
