Women’s Volleyball Falls to La Salle On Day One of Thunderdome Classic

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Opening the Thunderdome Classic in its second-straight weekend of tournament play, the Harvard women's volleyball team (2-2, 0-0 Ivy) fell, 3-0, to La Salle (4-3, 0-0 A-10) on day one of competition at UC Santa Barbara. The Crimson was edged by set scores of 22-25, 17-25 and 22-25.

Junior Mindie Mabry led the Crimson attack with nine kills, while sophomore Jaimie Rao followed closely behind with eight and a team-best hitting percentage at .375. First-year Ashley Wang set up Harvard's offense with a team-leading 21 assists, while sophomore Bella Almanza dished out 10. The duo nearly each recorded double-doubles, also adding to the Crimson's defensive efforts with nine digs apiece.

Leading the front and back court, Mabry registered a team-high 10 digs, while junior Sandra Zeng added seven. Senior Sope Adeleye led the Crimson in blocks, putting up five of the team's 12 total.
