BRIDGEPORT, Pa.- Two members of the Harvard women's water polo team garnered CWPA all-conference honors as announced by the conference on Thursday, April 25. Senior Kristen Hong was named to the first team while first-year Grace Thawley earned a second-team nod.
The pair totaled 106 goals, 46 assists, 25 steals and 64 designated kick outs over the course of 26 games. Throughout the season the Hong recorded 64 goals, while breaking the program's career-goals record and surpassing Yoshi Andersen '16 on March 30 with 250 goals. Additionally, the senior has posted 34 assists, 15 steals, 20 designated kick outs and five blocks. This marks the Orinda, California native's third postseason conference and first time as a first team recipient.
In her first year with the Crimson, Thawley has forced a team-leading 44 designated kick outs, 42 goals, 12 assists, 10 steals and a block. Thawley has also recorded a career-high eight goals in the 19-6 victory against Siena on Feb. 2 at the Bruno Classic.
The pair look ahead to postseason play, tomorrow, Friday, April 26 at 4 p.m. against Brown.
