BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – First-year attacker Brooke Hourigan has been named CWPA Rookie of the Week, the league announced today, Feb. 11. This is Hourigan's first weekly honor of her Harvard career.
Over four matches at the Bucknell Invite, Feb. 8-9, Hourigan totaled eight goals, two assists, four steals and one block. The first-year recorded two steals against LIU and added another in the matches against St. Francis (N.Y.) and Saint Francis (Pa.). Against St. Francis (N.Y.), the Newport Beach, Calif. native added two goals and two assists to her total. Hourigan closed out the invite on a high, scoring a career-high four goals against Saint Francis (Pa.), tallying two goals in both the third and fourth quarters of play.
The Crimson will be back in action on Feb. 15 and 16, at the Princeton Invite. Harvard will face San Diego State on Saturday at 1 p.m. and St. Francis (N.Y.) at 5:30 p.m. On Sunday, the Crimson is set to take on No. 20 Wagner at 12 p.m.
