Freshman Hugo Milner led Harvard men's cross country with a ninth place finish at the Princeton Invitational (Tom Connelly)
PRINCETON, N.J. – Freshman Hugo Milner finished ninth to lead Harvard men's cross country to a 13th place finish overall at the Princeton Invitational, held at West Windsor Fields.
Milner finished the 8k course in 24:20.9 and had the top finish among freshman runners in the event. Three Harvard freshmen were among the five scoring runners for the Crimson, including Matthew Pereira (68th) and Michael Alber (95th).
-Milner's finish marked the second time this season that he has led Harvard (Coast-to-Coast Battle of Beantown), and his fastest collegiate cross-country 8k time.
-Junior Collin Price placed 45th overall in 24:54 and was Harvard's second scorer. Pereira finished third among Harvard scorers and 68th overall in 25:18.4. Alber placed 95th overall in 25:39.4, and senior Louis Colson (107th, 25:49.5) rounded out the Harvard scoring.
-Freshman Tessa Medrano ran as an individual for the Harvard women's team, finishing 78th overall in the women's 6k in 23:19.4
Harvard will have next weekend off before heading to Van Cortlandt Park in New York City for the Ivy League Cross Country Heptagonal Championships on Oct. 27.
