TILBURG, Netherlands – Junior Lisa Tertsch competed at the SPAR U-23 European Championships in the Netherlands on Sunday, December 9, finishing in 14th with a time of 21:13. Her finish helped Germany to a U-23 European Championship at the event.
Tertsch finished in third on the German team and in the top 20% of the race.
Moving up the entire race, Tertsch was six second behind the leader and in 34th place at the 1000-meter mark. By the time she had ran 3.5 kilometers, she had moved up to 21st place and then ultimately ended in 14th at the end of the 6.3-kilometer course.
The Darmstadt, Germany native earned All-Ivy and all-region honors this past fall, placing third at both the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships and the NCAA Northeast Regional. She then went on to place 100th at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Madison, Wisconsin.
