Cross Country to Open Season at Fordham Fiasco

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –  The Harvard cross country team will travel to the Bronx, N.Y. to open its season at the Fordham Fiasco on Saturday, Sept. 7. The women's event will commence at 9:30 am, with the men's edition beginning at approximately 10:00 am.

What to Know:

  • The 2019 race marks Harvard's first appearance in the Fordham Fiasco.
  • The Crimson men return its five scorers from a runner-up finish at Ivy League Heps a year ago, including individual champion Kieran Tuntivate and third-place finisher Hugo Milner.
  • After a sixth-place finish at the 2018 Ivy League Heps, junior Abbe Goldstein headlines the women's squad returning to Cambridge.

At the Helm:

Jason Saretsky, William W. "Bill" McCurdy Director of Track and Field/Cross Country, begins his 14th season at the head coach of men's and women's track and field and cross country programs at Harvard in 2019-20. During his tenure with the Crimson, Saretsky has earned five Women's USTFCCCA Northeast Region Coach of the Year awards and has mentored 54 combined NCAA qualifiers.

Alex Gibby enters his third season as the associate head coach for cross country.

Upon returning from the nation's largest city, Harvard will travel to New Haven, Conn. to race against long-time rival Yale on Sept. 13.
