CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Harvard men's water
polo team improved to 3-0 in CWPA Northern Division action with a
13-4 victory over Connecticut College Thursday evening at Blodgett
Pool. Overall, the Crimson improves to 5-12 on the season and
remains in first place in the Northern Division standings.
Kevin DiSilvestro paced the Crimson with four goals on seven shots
against the Camels, while Jeff Lee recorded a hat trick. The
duo of Mike Katzer and Alex Thompson each chipped in with two goals
apiece, while Egen Atkinson and and Dan Furman added a goal
each. Thompson also drew four kickouts, while Evan Zepfel
drew three kickouts. Nikhil Balaraman made three saves, while
allowing one goal, and Alexandre Popp also saw time in net,
stopping four shots, while surrendering three scores by Connecticut
College. After holding a 7-3 lead at the half, Harvard
outscored the Camels by a 6-1 margin in the second half.
The Crimson will remain at home to host Brown and Iona this
weekend. Harvard plays the Bears Saturday at 4:30 p.m.,
followed by a matchup with the Gaels Sunday at 2 p.m.
