CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- The Harvard men's
tennis team dropped its first dual match of the season as they fell
to Brigham Young, 4-3, Friday afternoon at the Murr Center Tennis
Courts.
Harvard claimed the doubles point, winning two of three matches,
to take an early 1-0 lead into singles action. Junior Aba
Omodele-Lucien and freshman Christo Schultz teamed up to earn an
8-6 victory at the top doubles spot. Sophomore Alistair Felton and
rookie Andy Nguyen partnered at the No. 2 position to win 8-6,
giving the Crimson the doubles point.
The Crimson was able to pick up wins at the No. 5 and 6 spots with
Felton and Schultz grabbing the wins. Felton cruised through his
first set, 6-0, dropped the second set, 6-7, and prevailed in the
third and deciding set, 7-5. Schultz won both sets of his match,
6-2, 7-5. Junior Alexei Chijoff-Evans and Omodele-Lucien took both
of their matches to three sets, but fell just shy of wins.
Harvard returns to the courts Saturday to take on Mississippi
State at 1 p.m. and DePaul at 7:30 p.m.
