CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior co-captains
J.P. O'Connor and Louis Caputo continued their winning
streaks with a pair of wins today as the Harvard wrestling team
fell to Princeton, 35-10, and Penn, 41-11, at the Malkin Athletic
Center.
Top ranked O'Connor scored bonus points in his two wins at
157 pounds Saturday to improve to 22-0 on the season. The Oxford,
N.Y., native defeated Princeton's Dan Scotton, 14-0, and
accepted a forfeit against Penn. O'Connor has 11 bonus point
victories this season.
Caputo, who is sixth at 184 pounds earned a 6-1 win over
Princeton's Kurt Brendel before recording a technical fall
over Penn's Harrison Cook, 18-0. Caputo is 15-2 on the season
and 10-0 in dual action. He has won nine in a row.
Sophomore Spencer Desena returned to the mat for the first time
since Jan. 16 and picked up a 7-0 win over Princeton's Bobby
Grogan. It was DeSena's fourth win of the season and second
in a row.
Freshman Paul Liguori also returned to the mat for the first time
since Dec. 4. He had a strong showing against No. 9 Cesar Grajales
of Penn, falling just 6-2 at 149 pounds.
The Crimson travels to Brown Saturday Feb. 13 before hosting
nationally ranked Lehigh Feb. 14 at the Malkin Athletic Center.
