ATHENS, Ga. – Sophomore Holly Cao suffered a three-set loss in the opening round of the NCAA singles tournament. Northwestern's Maria Mosolova defeated Cao, 6-3, 1-6, 6-2, Wednesday afternoon at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

After falling in the opening set, Cao took control of the second frame. She jumped out to a 2-1 lead and never looked back en route to a 6-1 victory. The two sides traded points to open the third set, but Mosolova took control and came away with a 6-2 win.

Cao closed out her spring campaign with a 15-4 overall record.
