PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 55 Harvard
women's tennis team fell Saturday afternoon to No. 40 Yale,
6-1. The loss came in the semifinals of the ECAC Indoor
Championship hosted by Princeton.
The Bulldogs grabbed an early 1-0 lead in the match, capturing
the doubles point after winning the No. 1 and 2 doubles matches.
Samantha Rosekrans and Hannah Morrill won the No. 3 match for the
Crimson, 8-2, over Silia DeFilippis and Elizabeth Epstein.
Holly Cao earned Harvard's only point of the match,
winning the No. 1 singles match. Cao took a two-set decision over
Vicky Brook, 7-6, 6-0. She remains undefeated this spring in
singles play (6-0). Yale would go on to win the final five singles
matches and earn a trip to the finals on Sunday.
Harvard will take on the loser of the No. 36 Princeton-Brown
match Sunday at noon for third place.
