CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Saturday the close result went the Crimson's way, as the fourth-seeded Harvard men's tennis team edged No. 5 Brown, 4-3, to extend its win streak to four and advance to the ECAC Indoor Championship semifinals.
The Crimson swept all three doubles matches to open the dual with a 1-0 lead. The duos of Alistair Felton and Andy Nguyen and Casey MacMaster and Jonathan Pearlman each went to a tiebreaker, but came out on top, 9-8.
Harvard received the three singles victories it needed with wins from Pearlman at No. 1, Nguyen at No. 4 and MacMaster at No. 6.
The Crimson will face top-seeded Cornell at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Big Red topped No. 8 Columbia, 6-1, Saturday night. The other semifinal will be at 11:30 a.m. between No. 2 Princeton and No. 3 Binghamton.
