PRINCETON, N.J. – The
Harvard women's tennis team was defeated by Brown, 4-1,
Sunday. Harvard finished fourth at the ECAC Indoor Championship
going 1-2 through the tournament.
Harvard earned the doubles point winning the No. 1 and 2 doubles
matches. Kristin Norton and Hideko Tachibana won the top doubles
match over Bianca Aboubakare and Jessica Harrow, 8-6, for the
Crimson. Holly Cao and Natalie Blosser followed with a win in the
No. 2 doubles match, downing Carissa Aboubakare and Misia
Krasowski, 8-4.
The winning did not continue in singles action for the Crimson,
losing the first four completed matches. Brown took singles matches
No. 3-6 in straight sets to secure the team victory. Holly Cao was
leading the No. 1 match in the second set, while Hideko Tachibana
had split the first two sets of the No. 2 match when those matches
were abandoned.
The Crimson returns home next weekend to take on No. 67 William
& Mary and No. 52 Purdue, Feb. 26 and 27, respectively.
