CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Sophomore Andy Nguyen was key at two different points in the Harvard men's tennis team's 5-2 victory over visiting Binghamton Friday at the Murr Center Tennis Courts.
Nguyen's 9-8 doubles win over Sven Vloedgraven and Gilbert Wong with partner Alistair Felton clinched the doubles point to give Harvard an early 1-0 lead, and his victory at the No. 3 spot sealed the deal in the match. Nguyen defeated the Bearcats' Alexandre Haggai, 6-2, 6-7, 6-3.
Sophomore Joshua Tchan returned to winning form with a 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 topping of Binghamton's Bastian Bornkessel at the No. 5 singles spot, and Junior Mac McAnulty won his first match back since last playing Feb. 11 against Quinnipiac.
Harvard heads to Southern California March 17-19 for the three-day San Diego Invitational hosted by the University of San Diego.
