Women's Tennis Wins Two of Three Flights at Cissie Leary Invitational

The tandem of Lin and Ringblom secured a win in the doubles flight (Traci Green).

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Harvard women's tennis found success over the opening weekend of the fall season. At Penn's Cissie Leary Invitational, freshman Ellen Jang-Milsten went undefeated in the singles "B" flight, topping teammate Sylvia Li in the final to go 5-0 overall.

The doubles flight was led by the Crimson as well. Sophomore Monica Lin and freshman Annika Ringblom paired to win all five of their matches to take home the title, topping their rivals from Princeton 8-4 in the final. Monica Lin also advance to the semifinals of the singles "A" flight after victories in her first three matches of the tournament, but fell  to Penn's Sol Eskenazi.

"This weekend was a nice test for our young squad against some top-notch competition early in the year. We took out many tough Ivy League opponents along the way," said head coach Traci Green. "I am very proud of the way we competed over the three-day tournament and am looking forward to the rest of our journey this fall."

The Crimson will send Monica Lin to the All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, California on Sept. 27, while the entire team will return to play on Oct. 3 at the Billie Jean King Invitational.
