NASHVILLE, Tenn. – On day two of the ITA Kickoff Weekend at Vanderbilt, Harvard women's tennis defeated No. 45 DePaul, 4-2. The Crimson, ranked No. 50, improved to 2-1 with the victory.
June Lee came out on top in the first singles position, earning a 6-4, 6-7 (3), 7-5 triumph over the Blue Demons' Patricia Lacranjan. The win is her 13th of the season. Freshmen Nikki Kallenberg and Annika Ringblom each secured three-set wins as well. Kallenberg's win came from the second position, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2, and Ringblom's from the fourth, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Harvard earned the doubles point with successful outcomes in the first and third positions. The duo of Lee and Monica Lin produced a win, 7-6(5), from the top slot while Kallenberg and Ringblom joined for a 6-3 victory to secure the point.
The Crimson hits the court again at Boston College on January 31 at the Dedham Health and Fitness Club. The doubles matches will begin at 4 p.m.
