No. 46 Women's Tennis Falls at No. 10 Stanford, 7-0

The loss snapped Harvard 's three-match win streak (Zack Williamson).

STANFORD, Calif. – In its first contest of its west coast trip, the No. 46 Harvard women's tennis team fell to No. 10 Stanford, 7-0.

The Cardinal (5-0) got on the board early with the doubles point after posting victories from the first and third positions. The Crimson's (4-2) Monica Lin and Annika Ringblom could not get past No. 5 Taylor Davidson and Carol Zhao in the top spot, while Amy He and Nikki Kallenberg could not overcome an early deficit in the third position.

In singles play, Lin was locked in a tight battle with No. 16 Caroline Doyle, and was tied at 3-3 midway through the first set. Doyle responded to take the next three points, however, and wound up coming away with the victory. Ringblom, Ellen Jang-Milsten and Sylvia Li all threatened to force a third set, but the Cardinal responded to pick up the victories.

The Crimson looks to rebound on Sunday, February 15 at No. 5 California. The first matches will begin at 3 p.m., EST, and can be viewed live on CalBears.com.
