Women's Tennis Wins Third-Straight Match, Over North Texas, 4-3

Harvard earns singles victories from top four slots (Zack Williamson).

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In its second home contest of the spring season, the No. 49 Harvard women's tennis team defeated No. 70 North Texas, 4-3. The win was Harvard's third straight, and pushed its record to 4-1.

Annika Ringblom secured the clinching point at No. 3 singles for Harvard in its third win of the season over a ranked opponent. With the score knotted at three apiece, Ringblom took the Mean Green's Anastasiya Shestakova to three sets, prevailing 5-7, 7-6, 6-4 to send the Crimson to the victory.

Harvard also got singles victories from Nikki Kallenberg, Monica Lin and Ellen Jang-Milsten, from the first, second, and fourth singles positions, respectively. Kallenberg earned a 6-1, 6-4 result in the top spot, while Lin defeated her opponent 6-2, 6-3 from the second slot. Jang-Milsten, playing No. 4 singles, won a three-set match, 7-5, 2-6, 6-2.

Harvard heads to the west coast for contests with No. 8 Stanford on February 14 and No. 5 Cal on February 15. Both matches will start at 3 p.m. EST.
