PRINCETON, N.J. – No. 13 Harvard-Radcliffe heavyweight crew was edged in a close race on Lake Carnegie Saturday morning. Conditions were good early in the morning, but the winds increased to a 15 mph cross headwind with strong gusts. 

No. 4 Virginia won the event in a time of 6:54.5, as No. 8 Princeton was overlapping with a time of 6:56.8 to win the Class of 1975 Cup. Radcliffe was just behind, stopping the clock in 6:57.5. Cornell finished a distant fourth with a time of 7:06.4.  

The Black and White finished third in the second varsity and varsity four races as well. In the 2V, UVA stopped the clock in 7:13.5, followed by Princeton (7:20.0) and Radcliffe (7:28.4). The Black and White (7:35.5) was a half-boat length behind Princeton (7:32.7) in the varsity four, as the Cavaliers won the event in 7:29.5.

The Tigers won the third varsity event in 7:20.0, followed by Virginia (7:26.6) with Radcliffe just behind (7:27.9).

Radcliffe continues its road swing with the Clemson Invitational April 18-19.
