PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Women's rugby participated in the Sorenson Cup Saturday, hosted by Brown. The Crimson took on four very strong teams, coming away with three losses and a draw.
"This was a very high-caliber tournament with five really good varsity teams," said head coach Sue Parker. "We intend to put this experience to good use next week at the Ivy 7's Championships."
Harvard opened the day against, fellow Ivy League team, Brown. The two teams battled throughout, but the game ended tied, 12-12. The Crimson next faced off with Army. Harvard was able to keep it close, but the Black Knights ended ahead of Harvard, 20-14.
For the second time in a week, Harvard and Quinnipiac took the rugby pitch. Harvard was able to put up 14 points, but it was not enough with the Bobcats scoring 31. The Crimson then played another familiar foe, in reigning sevens champions Norwich. The Cadets proved too much for the Crimson, winning out, 43-13.
