HANOVER, N.H. – The Harvard women's tennis team surpassed No. 43 Princeton in the first round of the ECAC Indoor Division I Championships Friday afternoon in Hanover, N.H.
The Crimson won the doubles point by winning two-of-three matches. The doubles pair of Erica Oosterhout and June Lee defeated the Tigers' duo of Nicole Kalhorn and Katrine Steffensen with a score of 6-3. Teammates Nikki Kallenberg and Isabel Jasper were also victorious over their opponents of Caroline Joyce and Dorothy Tang, 6-1.
No. 125 Nikki Kallenberg didn't let up in singles play as she beat No. 87 Katrine Steffensen in two sets, 6-2, 6-4. Oosterhout, similarly, defeated the Tigers' Nicole Kalhorn in two as well, 6-4, 6-4. Senior Amy He's singles contest was the deciding factor of the match where she picked up the first set, 6-4, fell the second, 7-5, and then swept the final set, 6-0.
The Crimson takes on No. 53 Brown for a 1 p.m. start time in the second round of the ECAC Indoor Championships.
