Women's Tennis Unable to Top No. 58 Columbia in ECAC Championship, 4-2

He defeated Columbia's Kevakian in the sixth slot (Zack Williamson).

HANOVER, N.H. – A day after advancing to the ECAC Championships title game, Harvard women's tennis could not hold on as No. 58 Columbia defeated the Crimson, 4-2, in Hanover.

Harvard's Annika Ringblom and Sabrina Xiong tallied a win in doubles action against the Lions' Kanika Vaidya and Adi Milstein, 6-4, but Columbia took a 1-0 lead after claiming the doubles point.

In singles play, Xiong defeated Andrea Kevakian in two sets, 6-2, 6-4, from the fifth position while teammate Amy He clinched a point from the sixth position for Harvard as she recorded a 6-3, 6-4 triumph over Sarah Hu. Three Lions singles players topped Harvard student-athletes in two sets to clinch the match.

The Crimson returns to action against No. 66 Portland at home in the Murr Center at noon. It will be broadcast on the Ivy League Digital Network.
