CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Harvard women's tennis team won a pair of non-conference matches as it defeated Providence and Rhode Island, 7-0, in contests Sunday afternoon at the Murr Center.
The doubles pair of Annika Ringblom and Sabrina Xiong finished the day 2-0 after defeating the Friars' Alana Prinos and Emma Burgess, 6-1, and the Rams' Anna Peacock and Taylor Holden, 6-0. Amy He and Erica Oosterhout, June Lee and Nikki Kallenberg, and Isabel Jasper and Lee also earned doubles victories on the day.
Lee, Oosterhout, Ringblom, and Xiong tallied 2-0 marks on the day in singles play. Kallenberg finished the day 1-0 after posting a win over Providence's Jenn DeLuca, 6-1, 6-1, while Jasper also ended the day 1-0 in singles after earning a victory over Rhode Island's Nicole Kalver, 6-0, 6-0.
The Crimson concludes its non-conference schedule as it travels to California for three matches. The first includes a 4 p.m. matchup against Loyola Marymount on Wednesday, March 16. Harvard will also face UC Santa Barbara on Saturday, March 19 for a 3 p.m. match, while also competing against Fresno St. at Santa Barbara on Sunday, March 20 at 2 p.m.
