SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Harvard women's tennis team (9-6) won its second match of its spring break trip to California as it came back from behind against UCSB (6-6), winning four of six singles matches for a 4-3 victory Saturday afternoon at the Rec Center Courts.
The Gauchos jumped ahead early as it won all three doubles matches taking a 1-0 lead against the Crimson.
Harvard did not back down as four singles players captured victories to surpass UCSB. Sabrina Xiong defeated Jaimee Gilbertson with set scores of 6-4, 6-4, in the No. 5 position, as Amy He topped Natalie Da Silveira in two sets as well, 7-6(3), 6-4, in the No. 6 spot. Erica Oosterhout dropped her first set to Amanda Atanasson, 4-6, but fought back in the final two with scores of 6-4, 6-4, while teammate Annika Ringblom clinched the game-winning match with a, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory.
The Crimson concludes its spring break trip to California with a match tomorrow at 2 p.m. EST against No. 24 Fresno State at UCSB's Rec Center Courts.
