Women's Tennis Wins Fifth-Straight Match Defeating No. 24 Fresno State, 4-2

Senior captain He earns a singles victory in Harvard's fifth-straight win (Zack Williamson).

LOS ANGELES - The Harvard women's tennis team clinched its fifth-straight victory this season with a 4-2 win over No. 24 Fresno State Saturday afternoon at Loyola Marymount's Tennis Center. The streak is the longest since the Crimson won eight straight in 2006 from April 7-26.

In doubles action, the Fresno State Bulldogs defeated all three Crimson pairs earning the first point of the match.

Four Harvard singles players surpassed Fresno State student-athletes to give the Crimson a 4-2 advantage. Freshman Erica Oosterhout defeated Rana Sherif Ahmed in the No. 3 spot with set scores of 7-5, 6-3, while Sabrina Xiong and Amy He topped their opponents with set scores of 6-1, 6-1, apiece. Nikki Kallenberg, in the No. 2 position, was down 3-6 in the first set, but fought back in the second and third, 6-4, 6-3, to tally the Crimson's fourth singles win for deciding match.

"I am so proud of the team's fight today against a very talented Fresno State team," stated head coach Traci Green. "It was a terrific team win."
