CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The No. 54 women's tennis dropped its first Ivy League match, 4-3, versus Cornell on Friday afternoon at the Murr Center.
Harvard earned the doubles point with wins from its No. 1 and No. 2 pairings. June Lee and Erica Oosterhout tallied the first victory of the afternoon, 6-1, while Sabrina Xiong and Annika Ringblom, in the No. 2 doubles pairingcame back from behind defeating the Big Red, 6-4.
In singles play, Cornell beat out Harvard, tallying four of the six matches. Oosterhout and Xiong were the only Crimson to out-do the Big Red with victories over Lizzie Stewart, 6-3, 6-1 and Jane Stewart, 3-6, 6-1, 6-2.
Harvard takes the court again as it hosts No. 37 Columbia in a Saturday, April 2 matchup with the 2 p.m. event broadcast on the Ivy League Digital Network.
