NEW YORK, N.Y. – The No. 49 Harvard women's tennis team clinched its fourth Ivy League win of the season with a 4-3 decision against Columbia on Friday, April 14.
Harvard (16-6, 4-0 Ivy League) claimed the team victory and decisive fourth point when Jenna Friedel won a hard-fought 6-4, 7-5 match over Columbia junior Rima Asatrian at No. 3 singles.
Annika Ringblom took home the first win for the Crimson, securing a 6-1, 6-3 decision versus Adi Milstein in the sixth position. June Lee earned her 21st win of the season, downing Andrea Kevakian, 7-6, 6-2 in the second slot. Irene Lu earned her 18th win of the year, securing a 6-1, 7-5 victory against Vivian Cheng.
Erica Oosterhout saw action in the first position, but was unable to clinch the set point, falling 11-9 in the tiebreaker to Alexandra Solovyev. Lexi Milunovich saw the fourth position, but was unable to earn the set point, falling 7-6, 6-1 to Ali Pollack.
Harvard returns to action tomorrow against Cornell at 2 p.m.
