CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- The Harvard women's fencing team opened up home play with wins over Tufts (25-2) and Wellesley (24-3) during the weekday contests. The Crimson moves to 6-1 on the season.
In the first bout of the night against Tufts, the Crimson created a strong offensive attack, sweeping the Jumbos 9-0 in sabre and epee. Senior Gabrielle Tartakovsky and junior Marta Lasota recorded Harvard's highest touch differentials of the night, posting a plus-14 against the jumbos in sabre. The foil squad added a 7-2 score to top Tufts, 25-2.
Against Wellesley, foil fencers Liana Henderson-Semel, Melissa Du, and Cynthia Liu had a perfect performance to give the Crimson a 9-0 lead. Liu bested each of her opponents to string together a touch differential of plus-13. In sabre, first-years Elizabeth Tartakovsky, Veronica Czyzewski and Martha Merriam recorded an 8-1 score to add to Harvard's winning efforts before a 7-2 epee battle. The Crimson topped the Blue 24-3 to conclude the nights' events.

- Saanchi Kukadia and Catherine Beddingfield recorded sweeps across the board in epee.
- In foil, Liana Henderson-Semel put up a perfect record, 6-0, while posting a combined plus-24 touch differential against Wellesley, the senior recorded a perfect 5-0 against two of her opponents.
- Elizabeth Tartakovsky notched two sweeps in her field, sabre, tallying a plus-11 touch differential over Tufts.
